What?

After determining who, the next question is, “What technology will be used to develop the project?” In this area the options are simpler. You can select to use Linux/Unix technology or Windows platform applications.

The Linux technologies are often termed “open source”. That means that the operating system that runs the server is free, open to the public and can be changed. Kind of a technology group think. But unless you are going to write code on the operating system, this doesn’t do you much good. Apache web server, PHP, MySQL and other LAMP technologies are examples of open source. With much less structure and standards, programmers are free to do anything they want. Makes it difficult to change from the original programmer.

Plonka works in a Windows development environment and uses a full set of industry standard tools. We use tested, flexible, portable technologies like ASP.NET and SQL. We are a certified Microsoft Partner. Our developers have to pass certification tests that they understand and follow the best practices of Microsoft. Our coding takes place in the Visual Studio development environment which is powerful and strongly preferred by most programmers. The design components are built in Adobe Suite applications such as Illustrator, Photoshop and Premiere. When our experts use these extremely powerful development tools, the results are nothing short of incredible. One of the main reasons other development teams don’t use these tools is because they are unwilling to spend the time and money to setup up their shop with the right tools.
