Open source means that all of the development tools and software applications are free. Apache web server, PHP and other LAMP technologies are examples of open source. The big advantage of using open source systems is the cost savings. All the technology is completely free to download. Again though, you get what you pay for and the question is, do you want to really use the open source solution?
Plonka works in a Windows development environment and uses a full set of industry standard tools. We use tested, flexible, portable technologies like ASP and .Net. Our coding takes place in the Visual Studio development environment which is powerful and strongly preferred by most programmers. The design components are built in Adobe Suite applications such as Illustrator, Photoshop, Flash and Dreamweaver. When our experts use these extremely powerful development tools the results are nothing short of incredible. One of the main reasons other development teams don’t use these tools is because they are unwilling to spend the money to setup up their shop with the right tools.
